Cozy Vanilla Sweatsuit with Fold-Over Cuffs

While sewing up the Allspice Overalls, my client and I fell in love with the fabric and decided to make a darling sweatsuit for her little one. We discovered this yummy Tencel Lyocell Merino Double Knit Jersey, and trimmed it with an Almond Bamboo Cotton Rib 2×2 Knit. The cuffs at the wrists and ankles have the same fold-over design that allows mama to cover up those little hands and feet when baby is itchy during an eczema flare.

The sweatsuit is a mashup of patterns from the Peek-a-Boo Pattern shop, with a few modifications of my own. I used the Eeny meeny miny moe hoodie and the Toasty toes convertible pajamas sleeve and leg cuffs, extended for a longer fold-over.

Fun little pocket – just perfect for carrying a favorite toy. 🙂

I added a tiny, soft ribbon tag at the back of the pants, so mama can easily dress baby.

The bamboo 2×2 rib has the perfect stretch to easily open, then spring back to hold the fabric in place. It’s easy to fold the cuff up out of baby’s way for play, or fold it over baby’s hands and feet for sleep time.

Mama wanted a soft hat for baby, and the Lullaby line hat and mitts pattern did the trick.

Here he is! All warm and toasty during a cold snap. Precious!
