Sewing Sunglasses for a Friend

My friend Lorena was having a pretty significant birthday, and she’s a pretty significant friend, so… I thought she needed something pretty unique to celebrate her day! I had this cute Made in the Shade Sunglasses Case pattern from Sookie Sews and thought it would pair perfectly with some beautiful blue fabrics I had.

Lorena was part of our church Christmas Eve service, and commented on the beautiful fabrics in the second Wise Man costume. The hand-dyed batik is just gorgeous, and pairs beautifully with the blue metallic foil fabric – doesn’t it look like reflective lenses?

My trusty Bernina (her name is Crystal) added the perfect detailing to the glasses.

After following the simple instructions in the Sookie Sews pattern, I used her Easy Point Turner to flip it all inside out and VOILA! Isn’t it cute?

There was a little something else in the gift bag, but I’ll save that for another post. I think she liked it, don’t you? And we all had a fabulous time celebrating the big 3-0. Right, y’all? 😉

Thanks Sookie Sews for helping make the perfect gift! Love ya, Lorena! XOXO, MelRae
